Virtual Volunteers needed to help transition training programs to online platforms

About Women's Justice Network

The Women's Justice Network is a registered charity made up of a small team of committed paid staff and over 90 dedicated volunteers who work together
to assist women and girls affected by the criminal justice system through our award winning Mentoring Program to lead positive and productive lives. We take a holistic approach to enrich the lives of women and girls not only through our programs, but through our advocacy work and meeting their needs with family restoration , housing applications and referrals to other agencies.

We run several programs that have been designed to be inclusive of women and girls from diverse cultures and gender identity. These programs are the Adult Mentoring Program, My Way Youth Mentoring Program and Healing From Within.

The Impact of Your Contribution

COVID18 has taught us that we need to implement new ways of working and engaging with our stakeholders and clients. Your assistance to help us transition would mean that we have further reach of clients and volunteers and reduce costs of face-to-face training.

About the Healing From Within Program

This program is a peer-led creativity program for building confidence, self esteem, resilience and pathways to support. It has been running successfully in High Schools and Juvenile Detention Centres. We aim to deliver this program online to ensure that we have an extensive reach of at-risk youth.

About Mentoring Training

Women's Justice Network recruit new volunteer mentors to work across all our Mentoring Programs. As part of the induction process, we provide two days of intensive training which consists of information sessions and specialised guest speakers. This training occurs four times a year.

To ensure we offer a flexible learning environment to potential mentors outside the Sydney Metropolitan area, we aim to deliver this training online. In addition, we aim to reduce our costs of running face-to-face training by implementing an online system.

We are seeking volunteers to assist us to transition training volunteer mentors and to deliver our Healing From Within Program online. With your expertise and knowledge of available online platforms, we hope to successfully implement the online system and deliver our programs and training online.

Your Commitment

We are looking for people who will be able to commit for two months for approximately 8 hours per week.
