We are a project driven not-for-profit organisation, working to close the gap of disadvantage for Aboriginal Tasmanians and to promote truth, healing and unity for all. Your fundraising efforts will ensure the viability of our projects and programs and allow us to continue working towards a more united Tasmania. Rally your friends and colleagues and start your own fundraising campaign to support our work, or jump on-board one of our campaigns. Your efforts and contributions will be hugely appreciated.
Please support the Tasmanian Aboriginal community raise funds to establish a memorial to the island’s Colonial Era Conflicts.
This project is about honouring our ancestors who fell in the defence of their country.
It will be a space for all Tasmanians to learn about the truth and to allow healing.
RSL Tasmania approached members of the Aboriginal community to open a conversation about how the Colonial Era Conflicts could be remembered. This followed the 2019 Hobart ANZAC Day Parade where Aboriginal protests about the Frontier Wars were welcomed into the parade by participating veterans.
Currently, there are no state based memorials to Colonial Era Conflicts anywhere in Australia. This proposal will establish a memorial to all Tasmanian Colonial Era Conflicts in the Cenotaph precinct on Hobart's Queen's Domain.
This project is being led and driven by the Tasmanian Aboriginal Community at every stage.
Please help the Tasmanian Aboriginal community lead the way.
