Important cause for vulnerable women and young girls

Hi ! My name is Megan.

I'm a mentor for the Women's Justice Network (WJN). I'm fundraising money to support the mentoring programs that provide social support to vulnerable women and young girls who are or have been affected by the criminal justice system. This includes:

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and young women.
• Culturally and linguistically diverse women and young women.
• Women and young women with disability.
• Mothers and expectant mothers.
• Victims of family domestic and/or sexual violence.
• Lesbian & transgender women and young women.
• Women and young women with complex needs including mental illness and/or AOD issues.

These are amazing programs with life-changing impact on mentees. However, our ability to run and sustain mentoring programs are at risk due to the impact of COVID-19. This means less women and girls will be supported, no new women and girls will be able to receive support and women and girls entangled in the criminal justice system will fall through the cracks and will end up back in custody.

I invite you to support this cause in supporting women and young girls, particularly during this time of instability and uncertainty.
