The Nappy Collective collect leftover unused disposable nappies and redistribute them to organisations that support families in crisis or in need. Nappies are a basic healthcare need and lack of sufficient nappies can lead to an array of problems for disadvantaged families.
A 2 week collection is run in May and October each year. Local donations assist local services and local beneficiaries.
Volunteers deliver boxes of nappies to beneficiary organisations in the week following our sorting day. These deliveries usually need to be made in business hours when the services are open. The volunteer coordinates with the beneficiary to find a mutually suitable delivery day and time.
Our beneficiaries are located across the Hunter and the Central Coast.
Volunteers need to have their own vehicle (that has capacity to carry at least 6 boxes of varying sizes) and it is preferable that they are available to collect the boxes on Saturday 10 November and store them untill they can arrange delivery to the beneficiary.
Volunteers must meet all their own vehicular and related expenses.
