This two-day event hosted here at IMC is designed to give Sky High second-year students a taste of working with technology.
On Day 1 the students will build a Mindstorms robot from components and begin to learn how they can code it to move.
On Day 2 the students will be challenged to code their robot through a maze, finishing up the day with a race between the different robots!
We're looking for volunteers of ANY technical ability to get involved with mentoring students through this experience. If you're not a coder, we can train you in the simple commands the students will be using to complete the challenge.
The important skill you'll be needed to demonstrate is to be able to work through challenges and break complex tasks down into a series of steps. Many of our students are still developing resilience, and having lots of positive reinforcement in the room is really valuable.
Thanks for your help today guys!
