Hello everyone!
Between November 28th and December 31st, I am planning to ride my bike a total of 500kms to support The Aftershock, with an aim of raising $1000.
The Aftershock, established in October 2017, is a NFP organisation raising funds and awareness for high mortality rate cancers, which aims to advance the scientific and medical research related to the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of high mortality rate cancers. It's an excellent cause co-founded by my friend Chris, who rode from Freemantle to Melbourne in 2018 to help raise funds and awareness for The Aftershock and rare cancers.
Now... you may be thinking that's little more than 15kms per day on the bike, but this challenge is made a little difficult with the seasonal festive calendar, and Melbourne going into a post lockdown frenzy of activity.
I'll be posting my progress on Strava for those interested in tracking my levels of fitness. I would discourage setting up a secondary market betting on the likelihood of me actually completing the 500kms, but that's up to you.
It's a tricky time of year for the back pocket, but if you can afford to spare some change, please donate.
You can find out more about The Aftershock on their website, or by searching for their podcast!
