In the month of November I have committed to run 65KM (in bright red socks) to fundraise and raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis (CF). I will be running alongside colleagues from my respiratory ward, where many young people with CF frequent.
CF is a genetic condition that primarily affects the respiratory and digestive systems. There is currently no cure. People living with CF require relentless treatments, significant daily medications, physiotherapy and frequent hospital admissions to have their lungs ‘tuned up’, throughout their entire lives.
The average life expectancy at birth for someone born with CF is around 38 years.
Funds raised will go to CF Community Care Victoria, an organisation that provides programs and support services to people living with CF.
Please support me in socking it to CF!!
