Volunteer Building Cambodia Australia supports the work of Volunteer Building Cambodia who build houses, toilets and wells for poor people in rural Siem Reap. It relies entirely on volunteers to fund its work. With the current COVID 19 travel restrictions there are no longer any volunteers and hence no funding.
We would like to reach out to former volunteers or those who were going to volunteer in the near future to appeal for funding so that we can continue to build houses and toilets for the people in Cambodia who have been hit even harder than most others.
The main employer in the Siem Reap area was the tourism industry which has totally ceased. There is no social security net in Cambodia. Family members who might have been helping their extended families are now back home putting extra pressure on limited resources and may have no where to live as there is no room in the family "shack". There may also be limited or no sanitation facilities available.
We are looking for a marketing and "wordsmith" person who can improve our Benojo campaign pages and help us devise a strategy to get the most impact from a limited number of Benojo campaigns scheduled to commence in June 2020.
The person would have a consumer or NGO marketing background and have experience in both planning and executing a marketing campaign.
It is not envisaged that this will be long term commitment (although we are always happy for help)!
