Hamlin Ethiopian Adventure 4-17 November 2020 (14 Days)

Aiming to raise
What we are asking for and why

Travel to Ethiopia for a cause and see the life’s work of iconic Australian Dr Catherine Hamlin.

Join Team Hamlin on an exclusive trip to Ethiopia and witness how one Australian’s dream of eradicating obstetric fistula forever is becoming a reality 60 years later. This is a trip that will change your life.

You will experience an exciting insider’s tour of the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital, Hamlin College of Midwives and Desta Mender, the rehabilitation and reintegration facility for longer-term patients. Meet Hamlin midwives in action at the regional hospital and midwifery clinic in Bahir Dar.

Be immersed in Ethiopian culture visiting the tranquil island monasteries of Lake Tana and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Lalibela with its churches carved out of pink basaltic rock. Visit the village of Awra Amba, a community unlike any other in Ethiopia.

The trip concludes with the International 10K fun run. You'll be running (or walking or dancing) 10km, at altitude, against Ethiopians.

This trip is available to only 20 people and departs from Australia. Each adventurer is required to fundraise for Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia and cover their own travel expenses.

Funds raised support some of the most marginalised women in the world at Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia.
