The Focus program aims to provide young women from high-needs high schools with the essential leadership skills they need to engage in a successful, meaningful career.
Target group is female students in Year 11 who are in or aspiring to be in leadership positions within the school or their extra-curricular activities.
Through a series of structured, facilitated sessions, participants will explore current thinking about leadership and have the opportunity to work with and learn from the experience of professional women in corporate Australia.
Focus involves students working in small groups with female professionals who act as role models and mentors.
You will attend 3 facilitated sessions held over 3 consecutive weeks (1pm - 2pm)
Each session will be facilitated. Topics include an introduction to leadership styles, realising strengths and creating a leadership picture.
You will support young women to develop their leadership skills and aspire to senior roles in business and the community – to improve achievement and foster a sense of self-belief that will encourage students to aim high and have confidence in their leadership abilities.
