Cancer patients across NSW need your help now more than ever. They need your help to get their treatment. They need your help so they can access emotional support from trained counsellors, so they can get clear information about their diagnoses, and more than ever, they need your help so they can access emergency financial payments.
Cancer Council NSW provide these services so that people with cancer get the treatment, information and support they need, when they need it most. These are now at risk.
The COVID-19 outbreak has changed things for us. We have had to make the tough decision to cancel all Cancer Council NSW community fundraising events, all survivorship programs and all information services in hospitals.
We are already struggling to meet the demand for our vital Transport to Treatment service, to help cancer patients in rural and remote parts of NSW get to lifesaving treatment. We have put in place temporary arrangements however these are under pressure.
As the COVID-19 outbreak continues, we will find it harder to provide the critical services needed and to continue to support our loved ones with cancer.
Without your support, we face the very real and terrifying possibility of falling short in the funding we need for these critical cancer services, now and into the future. At a time when, now more than ever, cancer patients across NSW need to know that they’re not alone.
This is a challenging time for all of us, but especially so for some of our most vulnerable and at risk loved ones: those in our community dealing with cancer. With your support today, we will overcome this current crisis and together, we will ensure cancer patients across NSW continue to get the help they need, when they need it.
Thank you for your generosity and ongoing support. Together, we can make it through this extraordinary health crisis.
