Each year, just ahead of the typical onset of the disaster season, Red Cross dedicates our Emergency Preparedness campaign to raising awareness, starting conversations, and sharing simple, practical tools and resources to ensure Australians are as prepared as they can be.
This year, more than ever before, the Black Summer Bushfires and COVID-19 pandemic have shown how emergencies can happen to all of us.
Our goal is to help 3 million Australians to be prepared for and recover from disasters and we invite you to partner with us on the journey by amplifying our messaging and/or engaging in fundraising activities throughout Emergency Preparedness Week (31 August -6 September).
Your generous donations will:
Equip our staff and volunteers with the training and skills to assist individuals and communities in times of disasters
Enable Red Cross to continue to be the first responders when an emergency or disaster strikes
Provide the resources to develop communications and tools to help people be prepared in the case of an emergency or disaster
Encourage people to take the time now to take preparedness action.
