In November/December 2018 a bushfire began in Deepwater, Queensland - southwest of Gladstone.
The fires continued in the region for 2 weeks resulting in one fatality, many people injured, 25 homes lost as well as many outbuildings, sheds and 75,000 hectares of land. Fires were around the villages of Rosedale, Miriam Vale, Lowmead, Baffle Creek & Mount Maria.
Disaster Relief Australia deployed teams to this area after the initial fires in early 2019 and are now going back to continue the works and to support a community still recovering 2 years later.
Disaster Relief Australia are continuing recovery works with debris removal, chainsaw work & repairs to fence lines.
