Moorambilla Voices have a vision to promote the beautiful art of wadaiko (a form of drumming that hails originally from Japan) in Australia. For a decade, Moorambilla Voices Artistic Director Michelle Leonard OAM has tirelessly supported the learning of taiko, side by side with choral singing, by her young, talented 100 candidates of the
Maxed Out Company - Moorambilla program. To this end, she has brought Taikoz into her orbit to lead this aspect of her vision. Together we hope to find funding to increase our taiko numbers in the regional schools out into the North West region of NSW leading into providing workshops in this artistry.
The taiko are made in Tathra with all Australian products. Each delivered kit consists of a taiko, a stand, cover & a set of bachi which costs Moorambilla $3000 each so your help would be grateful. This Fundraising campaign will provide our ensemble with 10 more taiko to add to our existing 48.
