Assistance Dogs Australia train and place remarkable dogs with Australians in need. We support people living with physical disabilities, children & families living with Autism, people living with post-traumatic stress disorder as well as placing Assistance Dogs into schools and community facilities.
Each Assistance Dog costs $35,000 to train over two years, and the learn more than 50 specialised commands to meet the specific needs of each person living with a disability.
Uniquely, Assistance Dogs are placed free of charge with their new owner, providing support for up to 10 years of the dog's working life. Our Assistance Dogs are as intelligent as they are loving. Their tireless efforts to enhance the lives of people with disabilities is heart-warming. The difference they make is life-changing, providing improved health, independence and relationships to individuals and families.
To date we have placed more 200 Assistance Dogs with clients and we currently have 150 people on our waiting list.
