The MRC Foundation 'Walk For Phil' is a 23km walk, inspired by Phil Sly, a larger than life horse racing identity who lost his staunch and rallying fight against “The Grub” of cancer in 2016.
The MRC Foundation 'Walk for Phil' is to honour not just Phil's life - one fully spent - but to work towards providing life-changing differences for others. This year, Walk For Phil will take place on Friday 20th April, 2018 in aid of two of Phil Sly’s favourite charities - Pinchapoo and Very Special Kids.
Pinchapoo works with over 70 leading organisations nationally by redistributing donated personal hygiene products to thousands of disadvantaged men, women and children around Australia.
Very Special Kids cares for children with life-threatening conditions, helping more than 900 families across Victoria with ongoing support from diagnosis all the way through to recovery or bereavement.
We are aiming to raise $100,000 from our 2018 Walk, which will help fund the ongoing services provided by both organisations - help us make a difference.
The 23km walk departs at 8am sharp (7am registration) from Moonee Valley Racecourse to Caulfield Racecourse, via Flemington Racecourse, concluding at 3pm.
To take part, simply click the REGISTER button, complete your details including payment information, and you're all set to come walk with us.
Get friends, family and work colleagues to sponsor your hard work - all funds raised will go directly to helping these charities who benefit the community in which we all live and work.
Want to walk as a team? Register individually and sign up to fundraise together. Head to the fundraising page for information on how to create and invite people to your team.
Can't make the walk but still want to donate? You can do that too by simply hitting the DONATE button on the fundraising page.
Thanks for helping us make the second 'Walk For Phil' have even greater impact on our community!
