Redkite is the Australian cancer charity providing essential support to children and young people (0–24 years) with cancer, and their families and support networks. Providing essential support to children and young people with cancer, and their families, has been Redkite's focus for over 30 years. We're here throughout the whole cancer journey, from the moment of diagnosis until after treatment finishes, including:
• financial assistance to cover essential expenses, such as food, bills and fuel
• information, counselling and group support
• support to keep education and career goals on track
• support through grief and loss
Redkite receives no government funding. We rely entirely on the generosity of the community to provide these important services.
Currently only 46% of Australian's know about Redkite which means we aren't able to be there for all families who
need us. Urgent funding is needed in 2014 to ensure we can continue to bridge the huge gap in cancer support for families across Australia. ICAP has the opportunity to make a real difference in so many families lives, not only with your financial support, but also by giving Redkite an invaluable platform to let more people know we can be there for them, at a time when they need it the most.
While many wonderful organisations exist to research cures and new treatments, there are families across Australia who need ICAP’s support today. They need your support to put food on the table, to fill their cars with petrol to get their child to and from hospital. They need your help to pay utility bills, so they can focus on their sick child and not how they will make ends meet. They need the social workers and music therapists that Redkite funds to help keep their families together. They need us now.
