Help support patients affected by pancreatic and other gastrointestinal cancers, by supporting our Community Care Program.
Research shows that the side effects of cancer and its treatment are substantial and affect everyday living. The Pancare Community Care Program helps patients and their families through evidence based, individualised care and therapies from the point of diagnosis through to recovery and bereavement.
Pancare has developed a model of services, based on the side effects people living with cancer and cancer treatment experience. These include; fatigue and pain, chemo brain (short term memory difficulties), psychosocial problems, financial stress, lack of information, knowledge and skills to manage their illness, lack of transportation and weak social support.
Patients may choose services that will assist their needs from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. Pancare will refund the cost of service provided up to a capped amount.
The services also include complimentary therapies where research has shown they have a positive impact on the symptoms patients living with cancer experience.
$500 will pay for a patient affected by pancreatic, liver, biliary, oesophageal or stomach cancer to access our Community Care Program. To help 100 patients, we need to raise $50,000.
