After three highly successful years of supporting students from a refugee background, we are now planning for Show Me The Way-Parramatta 2017. 16 Students will come from Arthur Phillip High School and Parramatta High School and connect with Show Me The Way-trained e-mentors from corporate Australia. Not only will the students engage in purposeful online conversations they will produce 4 case study mini documentaries of professionals from a refugee background. Examples of these can be found at http://www.showmetheway.org.au/role-models.html
We need professional filmmakers who can support our students in the production of role-model films.
The students we support are asked to produce mini documentaries of professionals from a refugee background and we need help from people with high level camera and editing skills to assist in these productions.
You will be required to give 20 hours over two consecutive days .
You will be highly proficient as a cameraperson and as an editor using Premiere and provide your own laptop for the edit. SMTW will provide cameras.
In return, you will be helping a crew of 4 young students new to our Western Sydney community gain valuable knowledge and help them develop critical thinking skills around careers and trades.
