PHOR provides a range of education programs to give parents and children from a refugee background the opportunity to learn about healthy eating and exercise in Australia. Nutrition is a major issue for many refugee families. Many arrive with micronutrient deficiencies and these are not automatically resolved after arrival in Australia. Adapting to a new country is challenging, it introduces new unfamiliar foods and removes others.
To continue to provide nutrition and healthy lifestyle education to these families, we need to improve our fundraising ability. To do this, we need authority to fund-raise so we can be sure we comply with the Charitable Fundraising Act 1991 (NSW) and the Charitable Fundraising Regulation 2015 (NSW). That's where you might be able to help.
Help us prepare our application to fund-raise so that we can get back to what we are good at: working effectively with families from a refugee background that are at risk of food insecurity.
