Every year in Australia, approximately 980 young people aged 15-24 are diagnosed with cancer. Cancer and its treatments have acute and unique impacts on their development, within a life stage which is arguably one of the most difficult. However, as they are generally treated in adult hospitals, most have little to no access to age-appropriate support.
Redkite provides professional, age-appropriate support to these young people and their families throughout their entire cancer journey – from diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond. With the generous support from the Benojo community, $5,000 will enable us to assist 1 young person who doesn’t currently have access to essential support.
Redkite receives no government funding and relies on the generosity from community champions like you to deliver our practical services to young people.
$20 can get an age appropriate book from Redkite's Book Club into the hands of a young person with cancer
$30 can put petrol in the car to drive to hospital for treatment
$50 can help a young person stay connected to their support network during treatment by covering the cost of their phone bill
