52% of young people across Australia feel there are barriers which may impact on the achievement of their study/work goals. Mission Australia's Creative Youth Initiative program offers young people aged 16-25 years who are facing many challenges in their lives the opportunity to build skills and employability through free TAFE-accredited art and music programs. They face severe hardship in achieving their full potential in leaning and employment as they live with mental illness, homelessness or domestic violence.
Mission Australia needs to urgently raise $253,303 to give young people in the midst of complex personal circumstances access to equipment in order to obtain a coveted TAFE-accredited certificate, so they can move toward independence. This includes sophisticated art and music supplies and other course resources.
