Are you concerned about climate change? So are we. As our climate warms, we face uncertainty for what the environment will look like for our children and our children’s children.
Earthwatch is working with leading scientists to gather critical climate data and how a warming climate will impact Australia’s island wildlife. Focusing on St Bees Island off the coast of Mackay in Queensland and also at the very tip of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, evidence has shown rainforest habitats are slowly overtaking woodland forests. Many species such as koalas and wallabies are solely dependent on woodland habitat and displacement could leave them with nowhere to go.
Join us by supporting this long-term research project to collect key data on flora and fauna on St Bees Island.
You donations and financial support towards this critical research into climate effects can provide us with the funds to purchase equipment such as underwater drones, or help us to financially underwrite a new and exciting “Student Challenge” program for Indigenous students to have a life altering experience and contribute to climate change research.
