A message from the cause

It was wonderful to see the IMC crew back in the kitchen to Cook for a Cause with OzHarvest, along with their family and friends! It was great to welcome them into our new HQ that is now our permanent Cooking for a Cause home.
Our chef team have raved about the enthusiasm and good humour of the IMC team, which made them a pleasure to host…. Not to forget their pretty nifty cooking skills!
On the menu for this session was corn fritters, a beautiful hand rolled ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta, meatballs with homemade labneh and much more – all made with surplus produce that would have otherwise gone to waste.
The meals that the IMC worked so hard to prepare (with the most important ingredient of all – love!) were delivered out to the Asylum Seeker Centre - “The Asylum Seekers Centre is a place of hospitality and welcome. It is an oasis for many people, a safe place for those who have fled situations of great danger.”
Thanks again to the IMC gang – we love your work and long term support of the work that we do at OzHarvest.
We look forward to seeing you all in our kitchen another time very soon.

What the charity is asking for and why

We're bringing the team together for a fun cooking workshop, whilst giving back to the community!

You will be divided into teams and led by professional chefs in cooking up hundreds of delicious meals. Together you will work to achieve great results! All food prepared will then be collected and delivered by the OzHarvest vans to people in need in Sydney.

What we need from you

Under the guidance of a pro chef, you'll help in the preparation & combination of ingredients, as well as cooking & packaging the food for distribution.

For safety in the kitchen, please ensure you wear fully closed in, flat and comfortable shoes such as joggers (no heels or ballet flats please!)
