Your attendance at the 65 Roses Breakfast supports Cystic Fibrosis SA to fulfil our purpose of supporting our members through provision of services, advocacy, education and funding of research.
Cystic Fibrosis is the most common life limiting, genetically inherited condition affecting Australians with almost 350 people in SA living with CF.
1 in 25 of us are carriers of the CF gene and may have passed that gene to our children.
A Child with CF is born every 4 or so days in Australia, between 6 and 8 children with CF are born each year in SA. More people with CF are living into adulthood but the condition does not become easier to manage and life expectancy is limited to less than 40 years.
A faulty Cystic Fibrosis gene causes a build up of mucus in the lungs and digestive system making it difficult to breathe and absorb nutrients. People with CF face a daily battle to stay well, they complete at least 2 nebulised treatments and consume up to 60 tablets every day.
